Renew Your Sense of Wonder & Possibility This Holiday Season

by Lisa on December 24, 2011

Do you remember what Christmas was like as a child? The wonder, excitement and anticipation you felt? Oh, the possibilities…

You made out your Santa wish list of all the things you’d been dreaming of, and on Christmas morning, when you got your first peek at the presents under the tree, your heart would race, and the anticipation intensified as you wondered…which of the many things you’d been longing for might be lying, right there, under the tree, wrapped in pretty paper and tied with a bright bow. Just waiting. For you to reach for it, open it, enjoy it…

This year, give yourself that same incredible, memorable experience. Let yourself dream. Let yourself play with the infinite possibilities. Let that magical sense of wonder and excitement and anticipation fill you.

This New Year’s Eve instead of sitting down to write out a list of New Year’s resolutions that you’ll have tossed aside by February, suspend your disbelief for a moment and make a list of all that you dream of.. and then make a commitment to yourself. That THIS year will be the year you go after those dreams, those possibilities. This will be the year you begin to live full-out, no-holds-barred.

This is the year, NOW, that you begin to live the life you have imagined.

Oh Yes! For the past couple of years, I abandoned the thought of making a New Year’s resolution because it just make me desperate and sad when I’m not able to accomplish most of what’s written on the list. Thanks for the advice. I think i will try doing that and include there my dream of climbing a mountain. :)

Hi Angel! Good for you! New Year’s Resolutions, while they may sound good in theory, often have just the negative effect you describe. Whereas going after your dreams is exciting, invigorating, enlivening. Go climb that mountain, girl! ; )

I have moments every Christmas (and birthdays too) when I feel like that little girl so enthralled by the possibility of magic. When I can tap into those moments I create dreams that light my soul on fire. THAT is what I want more of this year and resolutions be damned!

Oooo, Sandi! You sound like you’re on fire already, girl! Love it. lol… And yes! It’s when we shake off our more “adult” inhibitions about possibility and magic and really, truly let ourselves dream that we light our souls on fire and really come alive. Feels fabulous, doesn’t it?! And I just have to say…I love having you along for the ride. It’s so much more fun to go after your dreams when surrounded by others who are on fire and going after theirs. xo L
